three's a crowd

Florida resident since August 2004. Previously a resident of Zanesville, OH; Ann Arbor, MI; Athens, OH; Tiffin, OH; and Napoleon, OH born and raised.

I am and will always be an Ohioan, no matter how much they let me down in this and any future elections.

For the past four years, I've coached a speech & debate team and been a professor at a small liberal arts college. It was nice, I guess. Now I'm a Ph.D student at the University of South Florida, spending my days reading books on narratives and emotions and feminism. I like my programme, but I'm put off by the pretentiousness. So, I try and be the asshole, which works pretty well.

Meanwhile, I am learning to be a writer. I am not yet a writer. I write, but I don't consider myself a writer because my writing sucks. Maybe some day I will become a writer and give you something to read. Maybe.

I like prisons, too. Teaching and researching in them, not actually, well, being incarcerated.

I like my Volkswagens and Macs and I own a house in Ohio which is for sale omg no it's not i sold it on new year's eve yay. I play the Yamaha P-80 piano and the Wechter Pathmaker guitar.

I'm morally bankrupt. I like my beer Labatt, my bourbon Evan Williams, and keep a fully-stocked winerack, though I don't really drink wine that often. If you like wine, email me, come visit, we'll drink heavily.

Read Philip Gourevitch's We Wish To Inform You That Tomorrow We Will Be Killed With Our Families: Stories From Rwanda. I can't recommend it enough.
